Drilling directional holes enhances work safety and does not disrupt coal exploitation processes - another publication referring to the results of the DD-MET project has been released on nettg.pl.
October 4th, 2023
Results of the DD-MET Project were presented at the 40th Annual International Pittsburgh Coal Conference held at the TÜYAP Exhibition and Convention Center in Istanbul, Turkey. Małgorzata Słota-Valim presented the work entitled: "Investigation of the Effectiveness of Methane Drainage in a Multi-Seam Coal Mine with the Use of Long-Reach Directional Drilling - A Case Study from USCB, Poland."
September 2023
In the publication from September 28, 2023, on the nettg.pl website, we can read that drilling directional holes above the exploited coal seams is one of the most effective methods for capturing methane and, consequently, methane prevention in Polish mining industry. The tasks related to drilling directional boreholes are increasingly carried out by the Polish Mining Group (PGG S.A.), our industrial partner. This is a further implementation of the results obtained during the DD-MET project.
March 2023
The publication pertains to the results presented during the XXXII School of Underground Mining, where it was indicated that the cumulative share of methane drainage conducted through directional wells, in proportion to conventional wells, was 65:35 percent.
The Underground Mining School took place in Kraków from February 27th to March 1st, 2023. You can access the presentation through the following link:
